Description of the 2020 Organiser

Italian Space Agency (ASI)

Italian Space Agency (ASI)

GALILEO: stairway to heaven… pathway to Earth! The Italian Space Agency (ASI) is a national public body. In less than two decades, it has established itself as one of the most important global stakeholders on the scene of space science, satellite technologies, and space transport and exploration. Today, the Italian Space Agency plays a leading role both at a European and a global level. The ASI TLC and Navigation Unit is deeply committed to Galileo. The future of TLC and navigation relies on new satellite concepts that are able to adapt to different missions: from mobile communication to multimedia services, from environmental monitoring to assisted navigation for accurate positioning in air, maritime and terrestrial transport. The New Space Economy approach relies on new business models and an open innovation approach. The ASI ITT (Innovation and Technology Transfer) Unit commits itself to strengthening the national ecosystem, promoting the creation of new start-ups and supporting the generation of new ideas.
